Volume 1 has an ink note on title page. Volume 2 has small chip and hole in front endpapers. Minor foxing. Simon (1638-1712) was a French biblical critic. These volumes are a sequel to his "Bibliotheque critique," published posthumously with contributions by Nicolas Barat.
