1921 - Original woodcut. Excellent print. Signed at lower right in pencil. Image size: ca 200 × 250 mm. Paper size: 305 × 390 mm. Signed, original woodcut of Lasar Segall. Lasar Segall (1891-1957) was a Lithuanian born, Brazilian Jewish painter. He studied in Vilna and Berlin where he joined the "Freie Sezession" group, the precursor movement of the German Expressionism. In the mid-1910s he exhibited in Brazil, he was among the earliest artists who presented modern art in the country. Segall was a founding member of "Dresdner Sezession Gruppe" in 1919 with Otto Dix and Conrad Felixmüller but remained associated with the German Expressionists. In 1923 he moved and settled down in Brazil. Traces of creases, a small tear to edges. Remains of mounting to upper edge. Overall in fine condition. Original woodcut. Excellent print.
