Frontispiece + title leaves,(9),vi-xvi,(1),2-560,(2)(corrections et avertissement). 26 plates including the frontispiece. Quarto.In original calf with raised bands and rubbed gilt decoratiuon to spine and title label.half inch strip of calf missing from bottom of spine. Corners worn. Front hinge is cracked, showing strings, but still very strong indeed. FEP almost loose; lacks rear free end-paper. Small stamp impressed on FEP (2 fish across anchor) and v. small PO name inscribed. Staining to bottom right corners of last 30 pages, possibly water damage. Interior tight and generally clean. Hence: VG. Author's name appears on spine but is printed as "M. ****" on title page.
