He embraced de' Rossi's scheme of following an elevation of a building with a series of details and plans. The French publisher Joseph Bouchard, who lived in Florence in the 1750s, obtained Ruggieri's copperplates and succeeded in selling the resulting second edition to travellers on the Grand Tour. From the library of Sir John Randolph Leslie, 3rd Baronet 1885-1971, commonly known as Shane Leslie, was an Irish-born diplomat and writer. He was a first cousin of Sir Winston Churchill, the British war time Prime Minister. In 1908, Leslie became a Roman Catholic and supported Irish Home Rule. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
